3 things you should follow to build a Successful Career of your Choosing
Creating a Career is an Art. The first step of creating a Career is to have a passion and dream to become successful. However, having passion and a dream are not enough. So, the second step is to take action upon it. Taking steps forward is the key to be Successful. It does not matter how much time it takes, but if you have a strong determination and if you are willing to learn in each step of your path, then you are going to make a successful career.
As I mentioned before, I have a podcast named Personality Development Podcast and the current season is based on Career Development, I learn a lot of things from amazing guests who come on the show and share their wisdom. In my previous article, I mentioned about “3 Easy Steps you should follow to choose your Career”, and in this Article I am going to share “3 things you should follow to build a Successful Career of your Choosing”.
In the 5th Season, episode 2, I met a Leadership Development Coach and an Author, Jay Franze. He mentioned a lot of things related to Job Search and LinkedIn and in this episode itself, he elaborated on his journey of building a successful career. With that, I came up with following 3 things, which everyone should follow to build their Career:
- Work Hard in the Early Stages to Work Smart:
We all want a job where we have to work for 8 hours and then close our work. But, not at the early stage of your career. Remember, when you want to learn, you have to be available at the time of the tutor, and the same goes for jobs. When you are at the early stage, you should put efforts on learning, understanding and solving problems for the organization, no matter how much you are earning. It is really important to keep working hours aside and give it all you got for learning. Once you kow the System, your work is definitely going to get easy, and you are going to do your tasks comfortably, but until that time, you have to work hard to work smart at the later stage. - Do not go for Big Money straight away:
It is true that Passion drives us all, but another truth is Money tempts us all. We all want good money, so what we do is we try to get the best job available on the market and forget about our Passion. It is fine to earn less during the early stage of your career. Make sure to learn the right thing for less money rather learning things in which you are not interested in just for money. Wait for the opportunity in which you want to make career. - Learn things other than what's taught in College:
Getting a degree is not enough. Getting practical knowledge is more important for any industry you work in. And to get practical knowledge learn practical things related to your passion and job demands. For example, a college topper might get good grades but if he is not able to communicate, he will not be able to deliver his work or his knowledge.
Another Example can be of a software developer, a software developer may have more opportunities if he knows programming in multiple languages, than the developer who just knows Java Programming.
To conclude this, if you have passion for anything, you will not think twice to do whatsoever it takes to be successful in it. And if you feel the same way, than I am pretty sure these 3 things will help you in the journey of making a successful career.
