Retention of Data
We keep your personal data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we erase your personal data straight away, with these exceptions:
- Payment records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires. Before we keep them, we replace your identity with a random reference, so the records can no longer be linked to you.
- Published content stays available in anonymized form, as described below.
- Backups made before your deletion are overwritten in their normal cycle and are not used to restore your data.
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time under Account Settings › Danger zone. Deletion is immediate and permanent:
- Your profile, sign-in details, follows, subscriptions, notifications, assignment submissions, payout details, uploaded profile pictures and any unpublished or draft content are deleted.
- Courses, live classes, blogs and discussion posts you published stay available so other learners don't lose access to them. They are transferred to a general system account shown as "Former member", and your name and author details are removed. Nothing links this content to you any more.
