Getting started as a creator

What you can create, how to get access to live classes and the shop, and a tour of the studio.

What you can create

Everything you make lives in the studio. Sign in and open Creation studio to see it all in one place.

You want to… Create a… Who can
Teach a topic people work through at their own pace Course Everyone
Share an article, an opinion or a quick lesson Blog Everyone
Teach a group in real time, on video Live class People with the Live class tutor role
Sell lesson plans, worksheets, templates or slides Shop product People with the Seller role

Courses and blogs are open to everyone in open spaces such as the Learning Hub. In a closed space only its members can create: people who joined the space, and the contributors it lists.

Get access to live classes and the shop

Live classes and shop products need approval first, because live classes have video costs and products are sold.

To host live classes
  1. Go to Live classes in the studio.
  2. Pick the spaces you'd like to teach in, or leave them all unselected for any space.
  3. Tell us what you would teach and what your experience is, then press Send request.

An admin reviews your request and lets you know by email and notification. If it isn't approved, you're welcome to send a new one.

To sell in the shop
  1. Go to Shop products in the studio.
  2. Press Ask for seller access.
  3. Fill in your full name, mobile number, what you want to create and a short description of yourself and your experience, then press Submit.

How content goes live

Everything starts as a draft that only you and your collaborators can see. What happens next depends on the kind of content:

  • Courses and live classes go live as soon as you turn on at least one section or session in their Publish tab. Our moderators are told when something is published and can take down content that breaks the rules.
  • Blogs and shop products are submitted for review. A moderator checks them before they appear on the site, and we email you if anything needs to change.

You can always unpublish something to take it off the site and work on it as a draft again.

Your work saves itself

While something is a draft or under review, it saves automatically as you type. Once it's published, auto save turns off so people never see half-finished edits. Press Press to save when your changes are ready.

Find your way around the studio

Each editor has a Tips button in its top-right corner with quick reminders for the thing you're working on.
